Jacked In Recommends ‘24 Hour Party People’ (2002)

A semi-fictional tale of how Manchester’s alternative music scene was born as it follows the life of Factory Records founder, Tony Wilson (Steve Coogan) from 1979 – 1992. As well as some notable faces in music history, we get to see how one man was able to bring the world bands such as Joy Division, New Order and The Happy Mondays.

It has a tremendous soundtrack, to say the least, but the music scene doesn’t necessarily need to take your fancy for you to enjoy this noughties comedy, drama with an original style of storytelling that will keep you engaged throughout. However, with Tony constantly breaking the fourth wall to keep you informed, along with actual stock footage, it gives a tremendous amount of insight for fans of British music culture. You can’t be beaten, so why don’t you join in with… 24 Hour Party People. Get Involved.
