Evil Dead follows a bunch of youths staying in a cabin whilst attempting to help their drug-addicted friend, Mia (Jane Levy) kick her habit. As the movie progresses, strange happenings begin to arise, is it a paranormal entity or simply the ramblings of someone going cold turkey?
Not only a haunting, gore fest with amazing practical effects (that’s right, no CGI!), but this feature is also as clever as it is terrifying, giving legitimate reasons behind the character’s decisions and motives.
Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead does exactly what a “remake” should do and stays true to the original whilst still making it his own. A must-see for all horror fanatics, if you’re a fan of the original (The Evil Dead) or simply want a genuinely frightening movie that doesn’t rely on jump scares, get involved.
Available on Amazon Prime.
