Jacked In Recommends ‘Legend’ (1985)

Photo: Universal Pictures

No, not the Kray twin biopic starring Tom Hardy. Ridley Scott’s Shakespearean, operatic tale Legend sees our hero Jack (Tom Cruise) on a quest to save the love of his life, restore peace to the land and put a stop to the evil soul that is Darkness (Tim Curry).

With practical effects and make-up that still hold up by today’s standards, a performance (not to mention appearance) like nothing you’ve ever seen before by Curry and a mythical score by tangerine dream (on the US release anyway), it’s fair to say this magical story is a film for all fantasy lovers, get involved.

Available on Amazon Prime.
