Matt Robb’s short horror, Noman brings the summoning/séance sub-genre to the 21st century, allowing audiences to witness the terror through the medium of TikTok and live stream.
Thanks to the amazing camerawork, grain – and overall cinematography – it allows the movie to fit in seamlessly amongst the bigger names in horror.
A massive strength to be commended for this feature is the fact that, unless you were told you were watching a student short, you’d be none the wiser. Not only do the actors do a good job of carrying the script but thanks to the amazing camerawork, grain – and overall cinematography – it allows the movie to fit in seamlessly amongst the bigger names in horror.
Unfortunately, this is what also results in the film not necessarily standing out within its genre. Although Noman has a few interesting concepts, overall it doesn’t present anything groundbreaking and might get lost amongst its stereotypical, paranormal, horror flick peers.
By the end of the movie you’re left with the truly terrifying realisation, that people will do just about anything for followers and sometimes… this has consequences.
However, as well as a twist that revives the third act, by the end of the movie you’re left with the truly terrifying realisation, that people will do just about anything for followers and sometimes… this has consequences.
