Jacked In Reviews ‘Evil Dead Rise’ (2023)

We open with a particularly, classic, demonic POV as it gives us a tour of what seems to be a familiar woodland setting. However, once met with a lake-bound boardwalk – which leads to a complete stranger of a cabin – we immediately realise things will be going in a slightly different direction for Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise.

Behind The Scenes of Sam Raimi’s ‘Army of Darkness’

Travelling back in time, far away from the intimate cabin in the woods setting, we have Army of Darkness AKA Evil Dead III. Now in a much more open (and medieval) world, this film took things to the next level. Giving us deadites by the hundreds, effects that completely trumped its predecessors, not to mention, going completely slapstick with the franchise in the best way possible.

Given the stories from the goings-on behind the camera for the previous two Evil Dead movies, it’s no surprise that this larger production had its own fair share of difficulties as well as interesting tales to tell. Behind The Scenes of Sam Raimi’s ‘Evil Dead II’

However, what was it like working on set for a movie that would change the horror game and go down in cult classic infamy? From a third of the crew being fired over the course of a weekend to one of the cast members almost biting it during a take, we’ll be looking at behind the scene stories from Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead II . . . Groovy.

Behind The Scenes of Sam Raimi’s ‘The Evil Dead’

Back in the early 80’s audiences were met with a truly terrifying film that is renowned in the world of horror, Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead.

It shocked fans with its eeriness, not to mention terrifyingly, gruesome effects that had never been seen onscreen before. This movie not only inspired sequels, a “remake”, a series, copycats, even a musical, but has withstood the test of time and is still highly regarded to this day.

However, accomplishing this movie was no easy feat for these (more or less) first-time feature filmmakers. From the crew working off a script that was written on a couple dozen napkins to the filming taking place in a real-life, spooky, abandoned cabin and Sam Raimi actually being brought up on obscenity charges for the picture, we will be taking a look at behind the scenes for one of the biggest cult horror classics of all time.
