Jacked In Recommends ‘I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore’ (2017)

Putting up with all the unfairness the world has dealt her, the last straw is finally reached for Ruth (Melanie Lynskey) after she is burgled. Desperate to escape this whirlpool of depression and for everyone to just stop being an a**hole, she decides to take matters into her own hands – with the help of her eccentric neighbour, Tony (Elijah Wood).

This dark comedy features a story you can definitely empathize with. It seems to effortlessly rope you in, hitting you every now and again with these hilarious moments as we follow these two hapless individuals who are way out of their depth. Lynskey plays the role of a woman on the edge perfectly and Wood steals the show in terms of comedy gold as the wannabe action hero. However, although the humour is there throughout, the drama is still present, breaking it away from your average comedy.

Rest assured if you’re after a movie that’s simplistic, funny and has something about it, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore is the flick for you, get involved.
