Every now and again you’re given a film that doesn’t necessarily have a start, middle and end but still manages to tell a truly engaging story, keeping you hooked throughout, enter Kurt Sear’s Misdirection.

A brief yet wholesome window into the lives of two individuals as they struggle to deal with the threat around them. Not only does the title illustrate a portion of the movie’s subject matter, but it also masterfully describes the film as a whole – after initially opening with sinister undertones.

With no dialogue, creative cinematography and brilliant use of lighting, here is proof that an audience doesn’t need to be spoon-fed and can just enjoy what’s in front of them.

You generally find more simplistic stories have the biggest impact and that is certainly the case here. With no dialogue, creative cinematography and brilliant use of lighting, here is proof that an audience doesn’t need to be spoon-fed and can just enjoy what’s in front of them.

One can only hope that Sear continues with their unique style and carries it forward onto numerous enticing projects in the years to come.
