We follow the story of, political candidate, Geoff (Chris Orton), as he pays a friendly visit to, potential voter, Vera (Marilyn Everett-Jones). However, as time progresses, it begins to become more and more obvious that the two may not see eye to eye on a few of his policies… and then some.
A dark comedy in every sense of the word, here we have a story that wouldn’t be too out of place amongst Roald Dahl’s ‘Tales of the Unexpected‘.
Although it takes a while to get going, Red Ocean Blues is a slow burner with a decent payoff. A dark comedy in every sense of the word, here we have a story that wouldn’t be too out of place amongst Roald Dahl’s Tales of the Unexpected.
The acting, sound quality and cinematography (aside from some enjoyable trippy visuals which give off slight Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas vibes) are something to be desired but it does a decent job of having fun with hitting on current events. Everett-Jones also brings us an antagonist that definitely has potential, in this short, political satire which sends the message… MP’S BEWARE!
