We join Bob Spletzer for the opening episode of his travel doc, which sees him explore the US space program and the early accomplishments of NASA across America on his SpaceWalk.
The documentary provides tremendous amounts of insight into the technology and the people who helped get our astronauts into space. Not only that but with 35 space museums in the USA alone, it shows how vast their history of space science truly is. The depth we go allows us to see just how far we’ve come, not to mention the dangerous first steps – that many have forgotten – taken before we got the moon.
Along with being taken to these physical locations, the archive footage provides a very visual history lesson. Although there’s no real structure to the episode – as well as having somewhat of a cheap/amateur quality to it – how informative this documentary is, definitely makes up for the downfalls.
More than anything else, it’s just a pleasant experience following this giddy space fanatic on his walk with a passion that is well and truly infectious.
