Set in a world far more decayed than our own, we follow The Tinker. An individual with a bit of a screw loose, currently using his genius to breathe life into the earth… before it’s too late.
It almost feels like an eerie homage to the golden age of sci-fi – whilst simultaneously remaining contemporary.
With refreshing theatrics from the get-go, we have this mad scientist (in every sense of the word) encased in a laboratory, which gives off glorious Frankenstein (1931) vibes. It almost feels like an eerie homage to the golden age of sci-fi – whilst simultaneously remaining contemporary.
As well as the clear and concise directing skills of Aatif Zafar and Mariusz Scislowicz, we also the tremendous acting talents of David J Keogh, who truly embodies that of a stir-crazy scientist. However, the equally noteworthy mentions for this film definitely belong to that of the make-up, costume and set departments.
In conclusion, a refreshing, rejuvenation to old cinema, for sure. And when someone brings that classic style to the 21st century – and nails it – it would be only fitting to say… “Eureka”!
