Jacked In Reviews ‘Fire At Will’ (2023)

Put in the line of fire, both physically and emotionally, the centre of our story is Will (James Whetstone) – and his sociopathic therapist, Janet (Danni Sheppard).

A show which is comedic and concise, not overstaying its welcome. Switch out the vlogging form of therapy with actual therapy and the web series is almost in the same vein as Marion & Geoff (2000) – as you find yourself laughing at this man’s miserable life.

It toes the line nicely between dark humour and bad taste, never becoming the latter.

It toes the line nicely between dark humour and bad taste, never becoming the latter. Much like writer Whetstone and director, Velton Lishke did with The Turk, they have a knack for bringing these absurd happenings but making them feel authentic. Something Whetstone has brought once again – in both his writing and his acting.

Not forgetting that it’s no small task to come across as a believable b*tch but Danni Sheppard well and truly accomplishes that with her jaded Janet.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.
